OUR STORY

Our story begins with remembering the forgotten language of nature through our constant exposure to her subtle whispers. This continued conversation compels us to share, as the sheer volume of gifting we receive, is impossible to keep to ourselves.

We thrive on facilitating visceral, small-group experiences through a carefully blended synthesis of knowledge, practical experience and intuition. Storytelling has been part of humanity for 30 000+ years and as naturalists, we tell stories of nature…but feel strongly about judiciously keeping quiet as and when she so eloquently explains it herself.

Reawakening your own intuitions and drawing from this wealth of innate memories, unfolds the map to not only the natural… but also your inner wilderness.

In Through The Outdoor

A Safari With Us Is About So Much More Than Just Observing Wildlife And Capturing Imagery.

Seeing Instead Of Looking, Feeling Instead Of Thinking And Understanding Rather Than Assuming.

Challenging conventional paradigms is one of the ways in which Marius likes to increase awareness. Drawing from not so much his academic knowledge as his practical experience and intuitive abilities, he loves to weave a narrative which allows for an expanded awareness of Nature, wildlife and the human interface.

He believes that paying mindful and fierce attention to our surroundings when spending time out in Nature is an immensely powerful way in which to nourish our souls and also to recalibrate our values.

By simply considering the obvious in a slightly different light, he often shows just how blind we have become to the miracles around us, everywhere, everyday.

From an early age I’ve been preoccupied with wildlife & nature, and my life has been immersed in the field of reserves, wild animals and wide-open spaces. Having travelled extensively, I realised that nature was where my heart and passion lay, every facet of it, paying attention to it. Awakening journeys to the wilderness of Southern & East Africa have re-enforced my keen desire for travel and the exploration of unknown habitats and their beautiful & captivating inhabitants.

‘Patience and Perseverance’ is one of my mantras…a belief in it stems from my experience out in the field, of waiting and watching, being attentive to subtle signs that allow the emotional and usually not the physical participation in extraordinary natural events. The natural world brings me closer to me, to the present, it centres my thoughts and emotions, sharpens my awareness of surrounding stimuli and reminds me to appreciate, everything. My passion for nature and photography together with bush-skills, honed over many years as a wildlife guide, have taught me to be humble in the presence of the wildlife that surrounds us.”
