Our guiding style is aligned with - simplicity, silence, sensitivity, solitude, wilderness, and darkness.


The value of any experience is directly proportional to the amount of attention we commit to being present and so by accompanying you on a journey, we facilitate this awareness of nature’s constant gifting.


Meaningful experiences are not gained through active pursuit, but simply allowing them to unfold.

ON FOOT JOURNEYS

Our ethos is grounded in exploration with the soles of our feet…in direct contact with the Earth. There's a raw vulnerability in experiencing nature on foot that intertwines wonder and excitement into a visceral connection. 

Equipped with light backpacks containing refreshments, autonomy becomes our companion, allowing exploration into every nook and cranny or tracking wildlife to our heart’s content.

  • Delve Deeper

    Morning excursions, often physically demanding yet filled with moments of rest and quiet solitude, extend until lunchtime. A midday siesta however can pave the way for photographic discussions, reading or meditation, and set the pace for a slower afternoon which might include an afternoon stroll or a short game drive.


    Some destinations beckon us on Primitive Backpack Trails, carrying everything needed as autonomous hikers. Other destinations, the option of a staffed minimalistic fly camp or comfortable lodging in remote corners of Africa's wildest places, providing the freedom to focus solely on exploration.


As we tread with the soles of our feet, we unfold a journey of vulnerability, wonder, and exploration, creating a visceral connection with the natural world around us

FOUR WHEELED JOURNEYS

Embarking on overland journeys in well-equipped 4x4 vehicles, or venturing within wild concessions in open game-drive vehicles, we ensure every necessity and even a few luxuries. Our goal is to explore dusty tracks for grand vistas, wildlife encounters, and serene spots for lunch and siesta, culminating in a star-studded campsite or tranquil lodge.

Our journeys prioritise not just the destination but also moments around the campfire, shared stories, and forged connections. These camp-life interludes bring our expeditions to life, allowing reflection, camaraderie, and a deeper appreciation of the natural world.


    Beyond wildlife tracking and discovering hidden landscapes, our commitment extends to thoughtful accommodation choices. Whether under a starlit sky at a campsite or in a peaceful lodge, each option enhances the journey, ensuring a harmonious blend of adventure and relaxation.

Whether a fixed or rotary wing aircraft (chartered or hired for self-piloting), a flying safari adds a bird’s-eye-dimension to any journey. The ability to cover vast distances quickly and in comfort provides great latitude in available destinations and a perspective like no other.
