Journey through Namibia
Open year-round
Unsurpassed in terms of vast open uncluttered spaces, subtle hues, varying textures and big skies, this desert country is one of our absolute favourites! Namibia is still able to offer exceptional isolation in travel due to one of the lowest human densities on the planet, fantastic and easily navigable roads, surprising wildlife and vistas which inspire awe.
SossusvleI
Wolwedans Camps
Sesriem & Sossusvlei with its famous, gigantic red dunes, fairy-circles and star-studded night-skies convey a palpable grandeur. Oryx, springbok, ostrich, bat-eared fox and hyaena are some of the denizens likely to be encountered here. Whether tumbling head-over-heels down a dune, strolling on the gravel plains or peacefully perched atop a gargantuan granite boulder, you will be awed.
Brandberg
Sorris-Sorris Lodge
Brandberg, a geologically anomalous and rugged protrusion in the middle of nowhere is a perfect stop-over between the dunes of the south and rocky north. The spectacular array of colour emanating from the myriad mineral deposits lit by the rising sun is something to behold. Elephant and the occasional black-rhino are also encountered in the Ugad River which is accessed by 4x4 as well as walking.
Kaokoland
Serra Cafema / Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp / Shipwreck Lodge
Kaokoland is a desolate rugged landscape with ephemeral rivers supporting desert-adapted wildlife in the far north-west of the country. Jagged geology, dispersed permanent water along the rivers and incredible silence makes for a truly serene destination.
