Zambia in central Africa boasts huge formal and successfully protected conservation areas that are prime walking (our preference) and photo-vehicle habitat. Arguably the place of birth of the photographic walking safari, Zambia offers wilderness to walk in, remoteness to revel in and massive dark skies to bathe in after sunset.
A magnificent and very wild tract of wilderness is the Luangwa Valley…lying along one of Africa’s untouched river systems, below the majestic ramparts of the Muchinga escarpment, it’s a superb wildlife destination. Spectacular riverine ecosystems, walking par excellence, abundant mammal and bird-life, we head to quiet & remote areas.
A practically untouched and stunning grassland savanna, Liuwa Plain in the far west combines vast horizons, a cacophony of sound and scent, reviving predators, a truly impressive Wildebeest migration, shimmering lagoons, and practically nobody else!
Over 2 million hectares of resplendent wilderness, thriving wildlife, open plains and magnificent miombo forests, Kafue is very special and one of Zambia’s oldest conservation bastions. The far northern Busanga plains and southern deciduous woodlands beckon exploration predominantly in a photo-vehicle.
The Lower Zambezi eco-system is one of the region’s most diverse and scenic, with a variety of habitats in a small area, due to the proximity of the Zambezi river, her floodplains and the adjacent escarpment. Perfect for on-foot and vehicle experiences.
